I'm taking it from opp SIS Building to Hotel Rendezvous. Was thinking of taking MRT but seems too slow due to need to walk.
Would 111 be faster?

The answer depends on which day of the week you are traveling. Check route 111 on IRIS before you leave. If you notice a long interval between buses, it may be a sign of traffic congestion in the city.
Journey between Queenstown to Royal Thai Embassy should be faster than MRT. If you notice traffic is bad beyond that point, consider transfering to the North South Line.
